Corporate worship is central to the Christian life, for in worship God makes himself known to his people through the preaching of the gospel and the administration of the sacraments. Thus, at Calvary we desire to do in worship what God promises to use to build our faith. His preferences are to be our principles.
Because of this we know that our worship can feel and look a lot differently than other churches around us. Yet this is not because we are seeking to have a certain “worship style.” It is not our goal to be “contemporary” or “traditional”, or to gain a “market niche.” Rather, it is our aim to be God-centered in all we do in worship, and bring supreme honor and praise to our triune God.
We believe then that you will find worship at Calvary to be substantive, simple, and joyful.
To help you worship with us, here is an example of our Sunday worship, and our communion service on the 2nd Sunday of each month. The movement of the service reflects the movement of the gospel: God’s greatness, our guilt, God’s grace, and our gratitude. The back and forth nature reflects a “holy conversation” with God in which he speaks and we listen and respond.
